The brothers of Sigma Beta Tau Alumni received notification that Brother Alan Barr had died too late for us to attend his viewing or his funeral service. He is remembered fondly by those who knew him. May he Rest in Peace.

Alan R. Barr, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Manahawkin, NJ. Born in Irvington, Alan was raised in Matawan and eventually retired to live in Manahawkin in 1998.

He was employed by the Roselle Park Board of Education for 31 years, where he worked as a wood shop teacher.

Alan was also an avid fisherman who also enjoyed crabbing, as well as woodworking. He was also an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years Judyann, as well as a large extended family who will all miss him dearly.
