It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred Einsiedler, who left this world peacefully on September 30, 2026, in the comforting presence of his family. Born on May 4, 1943, to Zacharias and Pauline Einsiedler, Alfred lived a life full of love, laughter, and memorable moments.
Alfred spent his formative years in North Arlington, where he attended North Arlington High School. He was a member of the NAHS track team and Student Council and loved planning his high school reunions. His charismatic personality and ability to connect with others made a career in sales a natural fit.
In August of 1968, Al married Barbara and they shared 58 years together, most of which were spent on Madison Avenue in Kearny, where lifelong friendships developed along with great block parties!
Alfred is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Kristin Sullivan (Daniel) and Lauren Berberian (Mark), and his adored grandchildren, Jack, Kate, Maggie, and Zachary. His siblings, Elizabeth and Linda, also survive him, as well as nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart.
Alfred was a man of many passions. He never missed an episode of Jeopardy and loved sudoku and the NY Times crossword. He took great pride in his German heritage, which was often celebrated through his love of World Cup Soccer and his remarkable culinary skills. Family gatherings were often centered around the meals he prepared, accompanied by oldies music and the occasional sing-along. His quick wit made him a memorable character.
Though Alfred has departed from this life, he is now reunited with his dear sister Anna and countless friends and family that predeceased him. There’s certainly a party in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education).
Al’s life was a testament to the importance of family and the joy of celebrating. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 4, 2026 2:00pm – 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered Monday, October 5, 2026 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
