Arthur Salley Jr. Educator with Newark school system, 74, made his transition on Nov. 11, 2007.

A lifelong resident of Newark, Mr. Salley received his bachelor’s degree from Kean University and his master’s from Seton Hall. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed as an educator for the Newark Board of Education for 37 years before retiring.

He was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Arlena Salley; caring father of Wallace E. Salley and Jeneene Butler; devoted father-in-law of Laura Salley; loving brother of Benjamin Salley Sr.; cherished grandfather of Allen Salley; special uncle of Benjamin Salley Jr. and greatuncle of Rashad and Daniel Salley. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
