Allan B. Wales died Friday at home. He was 61 .

Born in Roselle Park. he moved to Edison 31 years ago.

He had been a teacher in the Franklin Park elementary school system for 28 years before retiring in 1989. He attended Roselle Park High School and Newark State College.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lee Jago, and his mother, Elsie W:tles, this year. Surviving are two sons. Richard and Edward of Edison; a daughter, Donna Hasara of Edison; two brothers, Edward of Clark and William of Sussex; a sister, Carol Anderson of East Brunswick, and three granddaughters.
