Conrad Mathew Rieder Jr., 71, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Born in Plainfield to the late Conrad and Stella Rieder, he was raised in Garwood and lived in Brick before moving to Delray Beach.

Conrad liked the outdoors including playing tennis and golf.

He coached football for many years and enjoyed watching the NY Giants and college football. He will always be remembered for being very kind and a good friend.

Connie joined the Sigma Beta Tau Fraternity, in what was then Newark State College in 1964. His Pledgemaster was Bill Gargiles, and to all who knew him, he was a great guy with a big smile on his face and a greatly valued Brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and the Brothers of Sigma Beta Tau.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Norris; loving children, Katie (Sean) Johnson, Brian Rieder (the late, Abbey Harris Rieder); and a sister, Barbara (Herman) Pfeifer.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 24 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
