Joseph T. Scelfo, 44, of Farmingdale, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, Feb. 29. 2020 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank after a yearlong courageous battle against lung cancer.

Joe was born in Point Pleasant and raised in Wall Township. He was a graduate of Wall Township High School and attended Ocean County College and Kean University. He worked for various general building contractors and established his own company, Scelfo General Contracting. 

Joe enjoyed classic cars and owned a few himself. He also liked collecting tropical fish. Most of all, he truly loved his occupation, building and renovating the homes of his clients. His family wishes to thank his girlfriend, Crystal Durrua for helping him through his illness.

Joe is survived by his loving parents Joseph and Tonia (Profita] Scelfo of Brielle; his cherished children Elena and JJ Scelfo and their mother Delayne Scelfo of Wall; his beloved sister Tonia Cleveland and her husband Scott of Brielle and their children Christopher and Logan. Joe is also survived by his two uncles Leonard and Lonis Scelfo.
