It is with the deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tony De Sousa, who departed this life on October 21, 2024 at the age of 47.
Tony was a devoted husband to his loving wife and soulmate, Christine. Proud father to his four children, whom he adored, Christopher, Daniel, Ryan, and Sofia. Being their father was his greatest joy and honor in life, filling his heart with love and purpose. His wife and children were the light of his world, Tony cherished every moment with them.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ to his beloved parents Antonio and Celia De Sousa, Tony was a son who made them incredibly proud with the way he lived his life, always honoring the values they instilled in him. Tony shared a special bond with his brother Eddie as well as his nieces, Alexandra and Olivia, whom he cherished. He will be dearly missed by his in-laws Bernardino and Ivone Goncalves, brother-in-law, Bernie and wife Laura, whom he loved as his own family.
His passing leaves an immense void in the lives of his family and friends, but, his love, laughter and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Though he is gone too soon, Tony’s impact on those around him will be felt forever.
Tony will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He had a unique ability to bring people together, whether through his important work as Global Head of Drug Safety for Novartis, his many dear friendships, or his family, Tony touched the lives of those around him in profound ways.
In addition to his immediate family, Tony leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and a community of friends who will miss his warmth and generous spirit. His love for life, devotion to his family, and ability to bring joy will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at Walter Johnson Funeral Home, Clark, on Thursday, October 24 from 4 – 8 pm. The Funeral begins on Friday at 9 am at the Funeral Home, thence to Our Lady of Fatima, Elizabeth, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am.
