William E. Belott, 69, of Woodland Park, formerly of Verona, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 in Wayne, NJ.

Mr. Belott was born in Newark, raised in Elizabeth, lived many years in Union, married and raised his family in Verona, before settling in Woodland Park in 2001. William started his teaching career at the Peshine Elementary School in Newark. He worked his way up to the Vice Principal at the 14th Avenue School and then retired as the Assistant Executive Superintendent, in charge of facilities and services, for the Newark Board of Education, retiring in 1996.

William was a founding father of Sigma Beta Tau of Kean University in Union. He was a member of CASA organization, Benedetto Croce Educational Society who honored him as a Distinguished Educational Leader. He was also an active and devoted volunteer al the Holy Face Monastery in Clifton, NJ.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Jo (Cecere) Belott. Devoted father to William Belott Jr. and his wife Anna and Anthony Belott and his fiancee Shanna. Loving brother to Jacqueline Kutyla.
